Experience

One Blackfriars

With over 20 years in practice, founding Director Keith Mapingire has contributed to a variety of award-winning projects across the UK and internationally. Experience at acclaimed architectural firms SimpsonHaugh and JTP underpins a rigorous approach that unites concept, innovation and value delivery for clients across residential, workplace, cultural, and mixed-use sectors.

Notable projects include One Blackfriars, a mixed use scheme featuring a 50 storey residential tower that transformed London’s skyline, along with residents' leisure facilities, hotel, restaurants, and shops across two smaller buildings, all centred around a new public plaza.

Circus West Village was the pioneering first phase of the new Battersea Power Station neighbourhood, comprised of 752 new homes in a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, townhouses and penthouses along with residents’ garden and lounge facilities, health suite, offices, shops, bars, restaurants and a new riverside park.

Library Walk is an elegant independent structure that connects Grade II* listed buildings, Manchester Central Library and Town Hall Extension. The 30 tonne stainless steel monocoque roof volume seemingly floats on 7m high structural glass panels, providing a dynamic, abstract element that is rooted in its situation and invites closer inspection by reflecting the adjacent buildings, the groundscape and the people moving within and around the link.

This breadth of experience shapes the studio's approach: combining design creativity with a rigorous understanding of context, construction, and client priorities. The practice is founded on the belief that good architecture delivers enduring value, enhances everyday experience, and balances aesthetic ambition with practical, buildable solutions.
